EFCA Pastoral Collaboration

Purpose

Jesus Christ has called all of his followers to proclaim the gospel with their lives. The 2014 EFCA Pastoral Collaboration will provide space for conversations about emboldening church members to engage the ever-changing culture, and to integrate worship with whole-life calling.

Hosted by EFCA President Bill Hamel and TIU Interim President Neil Nyberg, the EFCA Pastoral Collaboration is a gathering of pastors and non-staff church members who lead within and beyond their churches. This will be a time of conversation about how pastors can be resourced and equipped to empower their church members to be salt and light in the world.

EFCA pastors have been invited to attend this conversation with one non-staff church member. The purpose of bringing a lay leader is to make clear that this conversation is not just a meeting of vocational pastoral leaders but includes non-vocational church leaders who are in the marketplace daily, where gospel proclamation is most needed. Conversations will be facilitated by Tom Nelson, Steve Garber, and David Kiersznowski (see more info) but driven by participating pastors and lay leaders.

Costs

Please note that the following costs for the attending pastor and lay leader have been covered: lodging at the Radisson Blu, meals (spouses are welcome to join for dinner on Thursday and Friday), conference fees, conference meeting space, speakers and conference materials. The only cost to the local church is travel to and from the conference.

Location

The 2014 EFCA Pastoral Collaboration will be hosted at the EFCA Headquarters (EFCA National Office, 901 E. 78th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55420).

Lodging will be provided at Radisson Blu Mall of America (2100 Killebrew Drive, Bloomington, MN 55425).
